You’re supposed to love being a mother, but don’t talk about your kids all the damn time.
You have to be a career woman, but also, always be looking out for other people.
You have to answer for men’s bad behavior, which is INSANE, but if you point that out, you’re accused of complaining!
You’re supposed to stay pretty for men, but not so pretty that you tempt them too much or that you threaten other women because you’re supposed to be a part of the sisterhood, but ALWAYS STAND OUT and ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL. But never forget that the system is rigged, so find a way to acknowledge that but ALSO, always be grateful!

This is the speech. Write it on every goddamn wall out there.
you knock on the her dorm door as you wait patiently, with the black hairbrush you brought in your brag.
she opens the door as her cold gaze pierces into your eyes “what do you want?”
you get slighty embarrassed as you ask this, knowing it’ll sound weird to her. “i’d like to brush your hair, if I may” you awkwardly smile as you wait for her response.
“why would you want to do that? you’ll get nothing out of it” her face becomes more stiff as she doesn’t understand why you’re being kind to her.
“I know, but I like how long your hair is, it looks pretty” you try to keep your focus on her, despite you starting to shake and sweat.
“you want to torture yourself for my amusement? come in then” she leaves the door open for you as she walks to her desk chair, putting her hands in her lap.
“uh, thanks..” you quietly close the door as you don’t want to annoy wednesday anymore than you just did, you get the hairbrush out of your bag.
you show her the black brush before you start to brush her hair. “is this ok to use?”
she stares blankly at the brush, then looking infront of the wall. “yes, after all, you’re the one who’s supposed to experience torture”
you nod your head and take out her hair bands, her hair flows like water as it’s let down, it looks like silk from first glance, even before you touch it.
after you admire it for about 20 seconds, you start to brush it, there’s a wide range of hair for you as it’s on the floor.
you stare in shock as you continue to gently brush her hair, not knowing if she’s tender headed or not, the silence is loud as this continues.
after some time passes by and you’re still brushing her hair, she speaks up and continues to stare at the wall.
“i can feel your pain through the air” she remains in the same position as before as she is silently amused by your actions.
“figured” you’re not fazed by her demeanor as you enjoy her presence, savoring the moment while it lasts.
when you get finished brushing her hair, from what it feels like an eternity, you put her hair back up in braids.
“did you yearn for the light? feeling your hands rot away as you held the tool of misery?” she quickly stands up, looking into your soul.
“yes.. I just.. didn’t know how to put it in words” you decide not to share that you actually enjoyed the moment, in hopes for future bonding experiences.
“you will now be used as a device for my amusement” she leads you to the door and shuts it quickly.
“and goodbye to you too” you smile without her seeing, walking back to your own dorm.
